Estate Planning

At Schroon Law PLLC, we understand that estate planning is a crucial step in ensuring the proper distribution of your assets and the protection of your legacy. Our aim is to provide you with a comprehensive suite of options and plans that not only benefit your heirs but also protect you and your assets as you age and confront new challenges.

Our estate planning process begins with our Peace of Mind Consult or Webinar and the completion of our Legacy Navigator before our first meeting. This allows us to understand all your concerns and provide you with the best options available, from traditional wills to trusts that consider infirmaries later in life, special needs of beneficiaries, and protection of minors.

We also provide additional benefits like DocuBank, which makes your documents easily accessible when you and your family need them most. Our estate maintenance plan, Estate EASE (Expert Analysis & Strategic Evaluation), ensures that your estate plan is amended to account for changes in the law or in your circumstances, including changes in your assets, beneficiaries, or wishes, with minimal hassle on your part.

Advanced medical directives are an integral part of a comprehensive estate plan, which is why all our estate plans include a Living Will and Health Care Proxy. These documents give you control over your health care, even if you're unable to speak for yourself. They allow you to choose who should make medical decisions for you and the types of treatments you do or don't want. This way, your loved ones can ensure you get the care you need and that your estate is cared for until you're better.

We also include a Power of Attorney to ensure that your financial decisions are respected in times when you are incapacitated – allowing you to choose who should make and handle your financial decisions while you are unable to.  This ensures that your finances are also in good order when you are back on your feet.

At Schroon Law PLLC, we understand that estate planning involves several critical documents such as a last will and testament, a trust, a healthcare proxy, and powers of attorney.  We work with you to create a comprehensive estate plan that meets your unique needs and goals. Estate planning is a critical step in protecting one's assets and ensuring that one's wishes are respected after death. With proper planning and preparation, you can leave a lasting legacy for your loved ones and support the causes you care about for years to come.
